More warm temps AND we got lucky and dodged the rain last weekend. Lots of fun "running around in the woods" with Patrick and his Mom and Dad in Chantilly.

They say I've changed...
October and November temps this year have been optimal for outdoor family sessions. Hooray. Had so much fun last weekend with this family. I just love watching the girls grow each year and see their personalities blossom. A sneak peak...

Tread neat so small those little feet
Easton Patrick Myers was born in August. This little guy and his big sister Olivia are almost too much cuteness to handle. Good luck Mom and Dad!

they have made for you a friend...
Hard to believe but the due date for this little guy is fast approaching. Without doubt his big sister Olivia is eager to meet her baby brother. In the meantime, it's still her show...
i have my books, and my poetry...
Another great turnout for this now annual gathering of prolific local writers. Honored to be asked again to document the event in photographs.

Come again another day...
The rain threatened last weekend to postpone this family shoot, but I'm so glad it did not. I had so much fun chasing these two little guys around and capturing some three generation photos of their family!

and you've seen more than i...
This little family tucked away in NoVA brought me back to my earlier parenting days! I remember so well the first year after having my second son - big brother leading the show and baby brother watching, smiling, soaking it all up, waiting, and every now and then joining the games. It was such fun to revisit that energy and watch how friendship starts to grow between brothers... This is the Hertzbergs.

like a wildflower...blowing in the wind...
One of my favorite fun places to hang out and hear about photography trends, tools, and tricks of the trade is Rock The Shot. www.rocktheshortforum.comNot only can you catch up on Nikon and Canon gossip here, you can connect with fellow photographers around the globe, share insights and inquiries in the Forum, and members get lots of freebies from partnering vendors. Photoshop templates, how-to guides, actions and presets, etc....so many wonderful freebies to keep your inventory of products and ideas fresh.
Rock the Shot also holds photo contests, and this month's contest includes "flower" submissions. Still life, fields of gold, etc. Anything goes, as long as there's a flower in frame!
The funny thing is, a few weeks ago, I started editing old photos I had never gotten to and trying to weed out my hard-drive by removing old photos backed up elsewhere. In my Windows travels, I came across a folder on my desktop overflowing with digital photos never before seen, even by yours truly. A good many of the photos are from this Photo Safari around Harlem, NY, that I was a part of last year. I'm still attacking neglected photos as time permits, but I took a special effort to get this one cropped and edited for the monthly contest. I spotted this little fellow holding very still and staring at me, as I adjusted aperture setting and prepared to shoot. He was waiting for me to take his mug shot, so I did...
Enjoy the end of March!
